The BCCI has fined Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli following an on-field altercation.

 

Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were both penalized for violating the IPL Code of Conduct during the LSG versus RCB match on Monday.

Key figures of both team met the fine for breach of IPL Code of Conduct following a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants in #IPL 2023. However, following the match, a verbal duel between RCB captain Virat Kohli and LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir erupted in the ground alongwith few other players.

Subsequently, Exchange of words with Kohli followed by a verbal spat between LSG opening batter Kyle Meyers and Gambhir Aggarwal.StartPosition of Conflict. But the dust settled soon and Gambhir was penalized a 100% of his match fee for violating the IPL Code of Conduct for breaching Article 2.21 of the Code. Kohli, meanwhile, was handed a 100% fine of his match fee.

LSG bowler Naveen-ul-Haq was also fined 50 per cent of his match fee for a Level 1 breach under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct. These actions taken by the IPL are in strict measures with the players to set an example and ensure that these incidents do not happen in the near future.
