CandidRohit Sharma then was floor clear from his mind For some time there have been speculations surrounding the prospective exit of MS Dhoni from the Indian Premier League (IPL). With Dhoni getting ready to gear up for IPL 2023 for Chennai Super Kings, multiple analysts have already opined that he will not be playing the league post this year. Recently, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma had his say in this debate, suggesting that Dhoni still looks fit enough to carry on in IPL for the next 2-3 years.

“For last two-three years, I’ve been hearing that Dhoni will hand over the captaincy, but Dhoni carries on. I think he is fit enough to play a few more years,” Rohit had said during MI’s pre-season press conference.

Dhoni has been a master of finishing games in his career and former India skipper will always be at the summit while the rest are far behind him, reckons Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag.

The 21-year-old Guwahati-born player, who playing his fifth IPL this season, said while he is comfortable as a finisher, he would like to bowl at number 4 in the competition.

Over the past 3 years, I Was Doing a finishing job. Only one name comes to my mind… MS Dhoni, as I said before. No one, I feel, has mastered that craft except for him. When I fill in that role, I am pacing myself on him because of how he closes games out, or extends them.
